Apologistswriter
Who he was
- He wrote the “Irrisio” or “Mockery of the Heathen Philosophers,” or “Satire on the Profane Philosophers,” which satirizes the conflicting opinions of pagan writers on the human soul (chapters 1-2), and the fundamental principles of the universe (3-10).
- The 3rd century is its mostprobable date.
What he wrote
- The apology is clearly the work of a writer of very mediocre attainments.
- Nothing is known about the person of the author, but it would be a mistake to presume that he was a professional philosopher.
- The treatise is extant in 16 manuscripts.
