A small vessel made of silver, circular in shape with a lid. It is used to carry the holy Body moistened with a few drops of the precious Blood to give communion to the sick and those who are unable to come to the Liturgy and take communion. It is not used to preserve the Holy Communion for the next day, since the Coptic Church forbids this custom. According to the historian Renaudt, Pope Philotheos (the sixty-second Patriarch) says that this vessel must be kept with the priest.
