Who he was
- Bishop of Photice in Epirus and an ascetic.
- Didachus was evidently a man of considerable culture which he combined with a deep faith in Christ.
- He belonged to the generation immediately after the great Greek fathers, Sts. Basil and Greogory of Nazianzus.
- He attacked the Alexandrian formula of Christology at the Council of Chalcedon.
- His chapters on Spiritual Perfection enjoyed great popularity in succeeding generations, and is still of practical value.
What he wrote
- One hundred chapters on Spiritual Perfection: In which he attempts to analyze what it means to be Christ-like, and how to live such a life. He finds its basis in the three theological virtues, especially love.
- Homily on the Ascension.
- The Vision and the Catechesis.
- He wrote against the Arians.
