It is the indescribable eternal life, of which St. John the Evangelist said, “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John 17:3); “In Him was life” (John 1:4); and “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die” (John 11:25–26). If the believer finds delight in the presence of the Lord Christ in this life, then even at his death he shall find Christ meeting him and welcoming him. He sees death as a liberation into Christ, the source of life.
