Why do we say, “Who for us men and our salvation, came down from heaven”?

He did not descend for the sake of any particular group of people, but for the whole human race; to save us from sin, and from the curse that fell upon us through sin, and from death. St. John says, “Sin is lawlessness, and you know that He was manifested to take away our sin, and in Him there is no sin” (1 John 3:4–5).
